2022.07.21... on MeWar on Térror Before Assange:

In autumn 2021 the media in the West – similarly to communist media – joined the state apparatus in managing if not openly oppressing humanist values such as the anti-war feeling. The implication of that was the pseudo autonomy which assured ‘media independence’ for many, crushed abruptly and in open sight with no debate.

Many like to think power corrupts from top, down, the reality being the corruption of war was met half-way by the eager many who passed and still aim to pass as ‘competent professionals’. What some of us saw, witnessed and were exposed to, was never spoken of openly or plainly, but it was there and affected everybody to a degree since and today's war in Ukraine is no different.

MeWar on Térror Before Assange is a Juvenalian satirical pamphlet in 8 parts, storytelling how war was unscrupulously fed to the general public by the professional media elite. Read the book...

2022.06.19... on Priti Patel extraditing Julian Assange

Priti Patel the UK HomeOffice minister, wanted on this day to 'outsource' British press freedom to the US. This could be crowned as the ultimate fallout of over 20 years of war-on-gob politics, started by ToryBliar.

The war-on-gob politics of self-promotion and spin that got gradually more ferocious and indifferent to human-rights issues and people's freedom to speak up, but has given unprincipled characters the impetus to climb the power ladder with the support of a pro-war mass-media and middle-class that sees as its duty to surveil, curtail and oppress our right to gob back, if it serves them career wise.

With the signed extradition of Julian Assange this is the day Britain would give up its status as a human rights sanctuary where impartial, independent justice can overcome lies, abuse and torture in a court of law. Britain has officially downgraded itself to a 'special autonomous colony island' like HongKong is to China. As long as the US hegemon wants to murder you it is OK to be extradited to the main land over the pond, to ship out what is our press freedom there too, and something in return is not expected.

From here on lies only denial - as the only card the war-on-gob establishment could play - followed by punishment of individuals that take up journalism or just leaking information for a cause.

2022.06.12... on the power that affords our ignorance

Here where:

Power affords denial
Denial affords ignorance
Ignorance affords violence
Violence affords wars.

The wars afford the dead
The dead afford the truth.

Truth affords one's faith
Faith affords one's duty
Duty affords one's power.

Power is the trap Gods sprung on the world.
They can be dragged through the mud
From their grave and dropped
At any point in human history
To find power corrupted its own dead
The spoken truth and one's faith
With little to no regret
Through our ignorance and drive
Unaffected by gender, colour or design.

That power affords our ignorance
Dressed as duty not love!

2022.05.20... on she said, he didn't reply: the lighter side of war in relationships • 2

Amber Heard divorcee of Johnny Depp apparently said at their get together on live tv:

I was the only one that gave A shit.

In the words of Amber a lot hanged there in balance on the letter ‘A’. Shit she gave but the question remains was it with an ‘A’ in front, or not?

Why successful men choose trouble along the way when they seem perfectly OK doing what they do well still is the mystery of man after this public trial. Is it hubris or self-undermining or they need a mummy with benefits as a 'life-affirming' call to exist and be themselves? Why aspiring starlets still want a very successful schmo that can 'help' them in Hollywood, when Western feminism tells them otherwise - is no mystery.

Probably Johnny thought too much of himself after Vanessa Paradis - that he could handle the beautiful and younger trouble Amber was and is. Probably he craved trouble but this is not the trouble he expected. Probably she promised him trouble but not the trouble he got. From the trouble she was to him, Johnny should have walked out a long time ago but hubris in man makes him blind to trouble and what it takes to live with it, until it is too late.

They used to say in love and war anything goes. In marriage both are part of the same coin you get to trade to and fro and the stars in the sky are many times there to guide you towards failure, if not your mind. Love is trouble, war is even more, and marriage is probably an issue regardless how successful you are in Lala land.

Johnny guitar like the perfume actor he has become probably forgot to heed if not understand what trouble outside a film set means and what its scent is. That ‘hell hath no fury like a woman scorned’ are not just cool words to utter on cue but also to believe. Then again Amber’s trouble probably promised so much even Johnny couldn't refuse and was seduced by it! Proof to some extent to many that women are the ones on top.

No less there are 1000s of guys, women and what have you out there that after seeing Amber make the #metoo victim's seat in Hollywood for now hers, are ready to take her and her kinda trouble home, thinking they would love to have it.

The moral of this war remains: men crave the trouble they can’t cope with. Like in 1984 the sex crime between Amber & Johnny was reported in time in Hollywood and both will live now in room 101 for sometime to come. While Amber knows better how to give (A) shit or pretend, Johnny can’t wait to walk out into a real movie set again, and that may prove his undoing.

Johnny's live setlist or perfume ad soundtrack will include ONLY in spirit from now on a cover of: American Woman

2022.05.14... on Top Gun: Maverick or the lighter side of war at the movies • 1

In the age of Hollywood gender fluidity past hypocrisy, one expected we'd get for entertainment a Top Gun out-of-the-closet, where Tom makes out with Val or someone of the same sex. Kelly, clearly was the blonde's doubleganger distraction with so many planes shooting up in sky in the Jerry Bruckheimer era probably called the 'in-between pussy, coke and ass (we don't talk about in movies)'.

Pity about Kelly, unemployable in Hollywood today, her being out of the way does only to amplifying the above. She would have made the film better by means of character decay and over 30 years of history one is asked to become amnesic of from the first frame. But these are the limits of metoo patriarchal soul searching in Hollywood, that Tony & bros were so good at avoiding scot-free in over the top movies that only do more with infinitely much more around them and little to no character development.

As it is, without Kelly, Mav is still not out-of-the-closet yet and so not in touch with his flying parts and what they are craving. To some extent that makes him more hetero than he ever was which clearly is rewriting history. But that's nothing new in Hollywood. So, Mav's still shooting blanks in the sky but now looks more times than not past his bedtime, even when cruise-ing at mach9.

Most apparently still won't notice it, and that's the quality the movie has if you love the first one. Mav's actually a lady with a big big parachute bag desperate to eject and land in someone's lap, preferably a younger self. Well then...relax don't come, you've seen it all before... if you spotted that.

Alternative tile suggested by the viewing: Top Bum: MaMaverick
Unlikely viewing suggested by the sequel: Days of Thunder2 with Nicole in the driving seat but without Tom, since she is the better actor, better looking now not only taller than Tom, in Hollywood.

2022.04.13... on war: the one they made earlier

Akin with the beligerant ethos of any MacBeth or Richard the III-rd, any new war offers a great opportunity for the many 'MEs' in Western politics to speak up to clear their voice and wash their hands and reputation of ill and illegal deeds. From Henry Kissinger to Tony Blair and George W Bush what better chance for the masses to forget a war and warmongering past if not by having a new war in front of us that makes old ghosts pale in the name of supporting 'war is peace', since 'war is actually war' is not something our warmongers say but do and did.

Learning to speak your own in English, in this ‘Great British’ or rather great brutish context, appears(ed) to be the only way to recover the lost dream of freedom and humanity that most of our host nations did not fulfil but to the contrary, betray(ed) abysmally from the beginning of the new millennium when leaders choose the horror of war and the Western heart of darkness they now can claim it's Putin's.

Here's MeWar on Térror Before Assange - with Julian a political prisoner in a 'cruel Britannia' prison, where a true journalist that exposed past Western war crimes is not locked but tortured to death slowly and then to be extradite - this is a retelling of the previous war, that shaped the ‘inhumanity’ of the West, now craving to be spotless - and how the self-titled 'free' MEdia made love to it, now trying to 'hypnotise' us anew so we are cured of that truth.

The conclusion and collusion is plain in sight, if any war monger can wait long enough a new war will come sooner than they think and they may be overlooked if not fully absolved of old deeds with the help of the state. After all what is the value of the Western colonial state apparatus if not that too - any new war is good for burying the previous history of war crimes we hold, held in, now swiped from our shared human consciousness.

2022.03.21... on the poetry day and pornography of war

Who needs a poetry day when you’ve got war? War is the poetry of our times that drains our soul.
With its lyricism of destruction and death shared by all. From the turn of the millennium to this day hence.

The poetry of war, spoken, written, shown, explained. In 22 years, its value never diminished, chastised or denied.
By more and more war mongers that make war on peoples, not love.

War would be the never dying glory of our specie. The necessity that didn’t leave the spirit - nor our mind.
With 3 millennia of wars survived, not peace, to remember us by.

The poetry of love would never come first. The death in verse proud and unrepentant does!
How it writes over its victims the winners of our time. Their war is peace and glory slogans, faked prayers, and libidinous chants.

The mercenary poetry of war is a blank verse. It mercilessly rhymes but with the blade that stabs a life.
With long monologues of hate written against the enemy. That turn truth and gut feeling into their first casualty!

While our livelihood empties, drains and is eroded. We’re used on TV to explain why war is the only way forward.
In death too!... But not peace in our time…

2022.02.04... on Macbeth and the black and white murder of innocents

The spirit of Macbeth has been with us again, the spirit where the world is flat down here and not round as we're told it really is. Meaning, the world we live in is about the size of a boxing ring where your fave guy 'murders' in a corner the enemy you may dislike,... and his family. The true to our times question to ask on our flat piece of ground is: For how long is Macbeth a good guy and not a child murderer? For as long as he can sign his name as king POTUS.

The true value of a king is made apparent, when pointing the finger at 'killers' means or doesn't mean having three more fingers pointing at them in the same game. And also revealing, how much everybody around the king embraces the sound of silence and doesn't 'mention it', for their reasons.

In tune with MarkTwain's advice, with the right power tools you can fool, as in cheat, some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time, including yourself... of your true name, even if that leads to madness. You can explain infanticide as a colateral mishap as in the mind of Macbeth when it came to Macduff. In tune with that tragedy you shouldn't be able to fool all of the people all of the time... But does that matter anymore today? When the three American witches, the news - social media - and cinema act as a permanent narcoleptic of the soul and mind?

Here lies also a critique of the glorified but irrelevant American production for our times of The Tragedy of Macbeth (2021) by Joel Coen. Of all the plays in all the world and journeys he could've asked an audience to share, Joel chose a smug ego trip with megastars at its core. Like all good American individualists, who hold a black and white view of the world that translated from their mind into successful culinary cinema and a few expressive metaphors, he expects to impress us by default with a 3x4 arty framesize with round corners if not a super-widescreen costly Macbeth. Joel's concerns feels ruled by the state of his fame on the critics' barometer inside the same establishment that refused a comparison with the referential Throne of Blood (1957) by Akira Kurosawa to have more ground to call the favourite son's movie a work of art without paying any tribute.

The paradox of having a megastar, who's sold his hero's halo in countless culinary settings, play a warrior that ambition turns into a repugnant murderer that breaks down, feels like a voyeuristic stale spectacle packaged as the American art dream of current cinema goers - somewhat the opposite of a debate on hubris if not the consequences of power driven ambition that affects everybody that follows Macbeth and all he touches. No surprise then that any depth in Macbeth's arty world we experience is but a walk up and down of the main characters in a Hollywood emulation of Appia's settings that shows no concern for the state of murder in our world today or yesterday and what could be responsible for it, as in that tragic play.

We couldn't guess who Denzel's Thane of Cawdor could be in Washington today, which would have been of some contemporary interest. Not the same could be said about Frances McDormand with the many 'lady Macbeth' around to chose from. Hard also to put on your PC hat and ignore - as we are asked by Joel - that Macbeth would have played like a warrior the skin colour murderous ambition game and to the hilt of his dagger and sword to make himself more justified, terrifying and accomplished and not feeble in the mind as king - a thing among less other, current day king POTUS cans too with the help of his special troops.

Inconsequential as it may be, the sum message we got from Joel in line with that of king POTUS if not Shakespeare is: to do murder and get away with it in black and white... don't leave it anymore to weak feeble men that have a hero's complex so heavily attached to them!

2022.01.24... on Ukraine's crypto war

Peace and diplomacy are apparently too boring or very likely unprofitable to the neo-liberal mindset - as Ukrainians are about to find out.

SomeONE or someTHING at the other end of the rainbow, felt it was a good moment to short Bitcoin and Ether plus other crypto-currencies with the NFTs taking off.

A little war-talk and war-game in a far far away land could only set their scheme in motion .. provided that NATO was on board and hit an enemy with the same stone. And it worked! Crypto market lost $130 billion in one day amid war tensions in Ukraine and Russia is enemy #1 in the pop chart at the Pentagon and NATO (in the spirit they are separate entities somehow).

There's method and profit to the madness of war games - which in some regard makes it a conspiracy under the banner of 'Short Crypto Make War in Ukraine'. Russia carried its crypto loses and imposed restrictions on crypto assets which added to the drama and to how much probably SomeONE or someTHING pocketed in one day. China probably saw it coming a mile off since autumn 2021 and protected itself, but gave SomeONE or someTHING food for thought it can work in Europe with NATO's help.

2021.12.10 ...on the poetic injustice of International Human Rights Day

Here where the power of mediocrity rules as exceptional, the longing for transformation is born out of POETIC INJUSTICE and supernatural in essence.

The prolonged torture and martyrdom of Assange is the poetic injustice perpetrated by a mediocre and colluding system of human rights tributary to the values of a hegemon corrupted by its own fear of downfall. Today on the International Human Rights Day this felt more palpable than ever in the reversed decision that could deport Julian to the US, the very democracy that surveilled and manipulated him into an asylum claim, plotted to kill him and now leaned heavily, like the Mafia, on the pillars of the system.

This is beyond symbolic but shambolic of the human rights protection we can expect in Brexit Britain in the 3rd millennium if you challenge the 'current' status quo of the establishment and that of the hegemon. The professional conspiracy of educated mediocre morons that are unscrupulous about torturing anybody in order to sustain and serve their careers as judges with the help of the dissolution of the EU Human Rights act, expect to win any such battles by subterfuge, punishment and staying put on stilts, from where they would chase away journalists and freethinkers alike, when some friendly collusion is provided by the hegemon and security services.

They will probably aim to bury this 'unfortunate business' sometime later, like many other past crimes against our humanity they committed for the establishment that go back and forth to Joan of Arch. And, if they don't win the battle for control of our human rights in Brexit Britain and it is proven in the future somehow miraculously the decisions were tainted if not fully corrupted by other interests, they will say sorry, retire and... try it again with the same grotesque theatre of entitlement and pedigree in tow we've witnessed Vanessa Baraitser perform, ...dressed a bit differently.

The only true Darwinism ever present in the mediocre British democracy - that doesn't reward such courage and evolution - is to discredit, imprison and kill any natural right we are born with to speak truth to power, expose colonial practices, wars for enrichment and the fake narrative victors write about their values and history. Making any conscientious objector to such practices a victim open to involutionary abuse embedded in the interpretation of the law.

2021.11.03 ...on the Old-New Vic..torian establishment

Terry Gilliam of Monty Python's fame and talent, met at the Old Vic with the morally short-sighted that always do good to assist the ideological dance in the limelight of the latest British soft-power fad on its way Into the Woods and beyond.

That would've been a small token to endure for being paid more than his past talent is due today, unless the laughter Terry's guilty of at the expense of every post-colonial Englishman caught up with the intent to cancel him as he tripped into Old Vic unaware. Sweet prince, the days past to have it both ways are gone, you can laugh out loud corrosively if you still want to, but don't expect the Old Vic clique, who care about the power and money they yield more than what the joke might be, to laugh at themselves earnestly.

Terry's faux pas that never was, will soon be a thought crime, he sided with the opinion that any woman should have a womb in place to afford that name to be called. If they don't have one, some say, they or them could get one probably tattooed in colour on the abdomen and all will be solved in the spirit of the 'new cultural revolution' now. And that was just number 1.

Number 2, not 1 and a half. If you'd ever seen the casting couch Terry claims, you should know that some do it and say they don't but they get the parts they always want where the more talented have to wait in line or get left behind. The centuries old casting couch won't simply die the desired death, because a 'new cultural revolution' is in town. Or because we have ourselves social media edicts to live by, that tell us what we should watch on stage and how to behave and where. According to how blinded these new revolutionaries are, in today's theatre-land, actors to move on up or down practicing on the couch what they may not mind and know someone with casting powers may like, are none. Well, none at the Old Vic anyway where the theatre is a very respectable business, a true talentocracy, cleansed of controversy and probably itself to add - and Terry having his own ideas might have left us in doubt of that.

What followed played under the guise of race Equality, gender Diversity and sexual Inclusion - because multiculturalism doesn't sell anymore and socialism is the big big scare crow to avoid. Two Old Vic tweet twats gloated that Terry's show has been begging to be murdered out of its misery for a long long time and so it was rightly cancelled. Like the MacBeths of this world, the two intersectional mouthpieces of this war understood probably growing up; the embedded racism in England won't fundamentally go away, but would like to project itself as 'more inclusive' and that was good enough for them. So make way for the second generation migrants getting closer to the top jobs that keep their little ideological daggers close by under the cloak of past heritage, protected sexuality and gender fluidity, that apparently are meant to 'challenge 'n' murder' every racist stereotype. These two are sure to go mad and gloat over 'murder' once more, since 'cancelling' is not all this does as it has its own 'ACE-funded' rewards.

As messengers of ACE if you see that logo on the work of Nassy Maureen Konan or Penny Babakhani know what the current dream of post-colonial soft-power is made of. A new type of mental prostitution of the second generation migrant called here by its name and smell, by the first, that know it all too well everyday. It runs along the lines of being told to sell your heritage, sexuality and gender openly if you want to get anywhere in the arts. What was yours cannot be kept private anymore but has to be worn on the sleeve to pull the British bandwagon as EDI narrative on display.

Into the woods cancel culture is an ideological 'kompromat' of our artistic freedom and choices, in exchange for a paved way into the system to create by other name a projection of British soft-power that addresses less social, political or creative problems than it creates. One cannot call this very innovative but rather Victorian to its core, since only the Victorian gatekeepers of old were enabled to speak the lingo of virtue, hypocrisy and soft-power at the same time, and expected to be taken seriously, when colonialism, racism and why not buggery - as we know today - were just as relevant if not more. As far as the new Victorian soft-power goes - you can recognise it easily - it is always looking for the next story to tell about how great... great Britishness is, if the white men and women at the top feel it can fit their own game and are not humoured the wrong way by any undesired meta narrative. That's how the old-new establishment adapts to prevail these days and bullies in line those that don't take it to heart or stomach, and pips out too 'the undesirables' using 'cancel EDI'.

2021.10.22 ...on Arts Council of England aka ACE

ACE-funded art is state-sponsored art.

Let it sink in, that as artist of any gender or kind you are fit for the agenda of the British imperial-colonial-war-mongering-capitalistically-owned-socially-discriminatory-anti-immigration culinary projection of soft-power – some achievement in that.

Practically their minion, pawn, sometimes king or queen, but more like it their messenger if not plain slut for their cash... Slut art sounds cooler though than all the rest above, as the ACE great concept they can't speak about, but as client squeezing your voice to sing their tune... sort of, there you are.

The primary value of (their) art, artists never ask and are never told about!... Why would ACE sponsor you?... Because you are talented, strange, foreign, of different sexuality, gender or just starving?? ...more like... what you can do for them for the money, is the winning argument!

Now, if you see the ACE logo on someone's work know that is the dream post-colonial soft-power is made of and not independent theatre... and you can try to treat people who don't and won't qualify for it, as more genuine in fighting for what's right, and also harder to have for the artist here and everywhere, it's called a free mind.

2021.10.12 ...dirty diplomacy caricature

In line with some women being the same size as men in Western diplomacy - to prove the point they can,

The US eagle sent Ms Piggy to lay down the law of the neo-liberal jungle to the Kremlin bear.

Ms Piggy was not in Moscow to share the cakes of US baked democracy – as Jesus in Ukraine,

From her swagger, pig-eyed looks, and entourage she was there for a screwing without any foreplay wooing...

That entails, little copulation but plenty of castration of the Russian bear, more than never-ever before.

She obviously told, the one spectacled, polite teddybear that the Kremlin sent to meet and greet her...

His tail's too short and limp to be fishing in big numbers, over the pond,

While hers, he should choke and wonder, is firmly corkscrewed and forever on top of the world.

The teddybear was no Kermit the frog, didn't jump, didn't argue nor volunteered his balls like a Western gentleman,

Ms Piggy kept her reputation and cakes in the bag, and her date devolved into sightseeing with pics on Instagram.

As lay observers of the other kind one wonders, if this prudish dating between diplomats,

Couldn't be more conducive to results, with some porn messaging before... a date screwing?

The loser or winner however they may like, could perform some below the waist treat on their counter part.

So, as little people we won't worry every time the US pig pokes the Russian bear,

We're one step closer to a war between them, and diplomacy juices aren't flowing ever again.

De-escalation and peace are not easy-swollows when Western diplomacy thrives on fat beliefs,

The American pig can fly, glide, dive like an eagle, and shit from above,

On the Russian bear, that dreams of power in the taiga.

2021.09.27 ...2 for 1 or 1 for 2 Chinese style

The balancing act named 'who's losing face' between US and China, has shifted into a new gear... 2 Canadian spies for 1 little China girl? or 1 Huawei exec for 2 Western tourists? Still muddled who really gained face and more... but it feels it wasn't the Canadians...

There should be a killer app to remind company executives - and soon everybody - according to the country they're in or flying over, if they're probably in breach of any hegemony rules, called US sanctions. Westerner tourists when in China could be served by an app too, to tell them not everything they see is legally up for grabs in a pic... and any camera phone can grass on a sensitive location the moment they get close.

We don't know Julian ever considered playing the 2 for 1 game? Any two that could interests the US... in exchange for one Julian Assange, so he could walk from a London jail a free journalist, again? We've just got to admire his resilience in the face of murderous intentions of the US just exposed, his truthfulness and courage, which leave no doubt he is losing his life, with 'no contest' and no government twisting the arms of AUKUS.

2021.09.11 ...the 20-year takeaway 7 from 9/11

  1. In 20 years the word migrant has become more synonymous with that of terrorist in the Western minds. With a slight benefit of doubt the indifference or joy of seeing migrants suffering and drowning is on the same level with would-be terrorists being paraded in cages and extinguished by drones - a casual fact of life.
  2. In 20 years we've gone from being freer men, to being numbers, phone numbers, constantly surveilled and harassed by the state, with little to no privacy in sight. As Snowden exposed, this is infinitely worse than the STASI, communism and the Evil Empire of USSR subjected its citizens to. The protection the state offers we can't refuse is: we're free to have our private lives back as much as we're prepared to give up on using technology and live in caves - but we can't even be sure of that.
  3. After 20 years we don't know if the punishment and revenge visited on the world by means of war, drones, black sites, surveillance and civilian attacks  - as exposed by Assange - balances the crime against the innocent victims of 9/11, and will now cease and stop. All we are given is a 'locked frame of reference' of the two towers being attacked, that is used to explain or warrant any response, past, present and... future.
  4. After 20 years we live in a political landscape where war, sanctions, arbitrary detention and talk of 'the enemy' has been normalised as the natural continuation of 'non-diplomacy' when the West cannot get what it wants from other states.
  5. In 20 years the coalition lost the war in Afghanistan but won all of the above on the home front - so much for the power of the free word in happy democracies to beat the drones!
  6. After 20 years it could be said BinLaden used West's own hypocrisy not to live by the humanist standards it held, but to suspend, cancel and give up on them. For many the emperor has no new clothes now, to wear.
  7. After 20 years home-grown terrorism is a new disease and like any diseased people we worry constantly it may spread, affect or infect peaceful lives. Some nut could fake it for attention or gain, and other already claimed the cure is war itself - so there's more for the social care workers to untangle when it comes to our shared mental health.

2021.09.08 ...on the life of a democracy

The life if not the value of any old democracy stands in its majority-shared lies.

Here's one we heard earlier that our current post-Brexit, happy democracy relied/s on: 'Boris Johnson defends the Leave Campaign's contentious claim that Brexit will create an extra £350 million a week to spend on the NHS’. Probably yes, only from our own pockets and with ever a slimmer chance of a wage raise.

The public virtue of telling lies that sound like wishful truth makes it easier to be voted into power than actual truth. Very likely 'old democracies' are in danger of crumbling under the 'burden of truth' if shared by the majority.

2021.09.06 ...on the 'new migrant' wave

Here, somebody is always a loser, always going to get robbed,
As migrants to the West we see 'the loser' living in the host's mind.

They meet, chat and plan for you to be that loser from day one,
As the just-born mongrel kitten of a stray black cat that didn't die.

Losing your time, losing your little money, losing the opportunity of a life,
Losing your patience, losing your dignity, losing your mind.

They can march you towards a bright white future, happy in the knowledge…
You shall have to say: 'thank you mam' – for the opportunity of being robbed!
And, It's either that hypocrisy, or you getting drowned.

2021.09.04 ...on post-lockdown

Where do we go from here... FEAR

2021.08.27 ...on victors writing their own foot-on-the-ground history but not making it

Victors in war write their own history, it’s said ... The winning drive of empires since Roman times, to put their foot and trample on the 'lesser others', led the US and coalition to write its own history as victors in Afghanistan, before the foot-on-the-ground victory happened. The gulf between what the coalition countries were doing in Afghanistan and their victory there, is on display at Kabul airport. Though slogans like 'Who Dares Wins' are obsolete today and better adjusted to 'who dares bombs, drones, kills, dies or leaves quickly'... tomorrow such slogans will be resurrected with the demand we share them again, when what we will be asked to share in,  is the indignity of abusing other peoples for reasons that few could write a great history of themselves and some would make lots of money. We know already, we will never hear in the West slogans like 'who dares helps others' or 'who dares doesn't kill' or 'who dares doesn't die needlessly and leave others behind'.

The burden of wars - and quilt - in a democracy is shouldered by everybody, hence, everybody is responsible or nobody, but not the culprits. Time again the only history that is worth reading and acknowledging in war is the history of its victims... not the history written by the victors for their gain, pride or joy.

2021.08.21 ...is war a male enacted phantasy?

Giving voice to Freud from Civilization and Its Discontents in relation to the situation in Afghanistan, it springs to mind war is the ultimate male enacted phantasy (dominated by men but not only) where ego and super-ego collide, while the ugliness of the common ID reveals itself by accident through crimes. The two parties that clash, consume their tensions and intent as the penetrating party (usually the aggressor's side) and the party that is bent on performing a castrating role (usually the defender's side).

Looking at history, the emasculating victor more often succeeds by coming through the abuse it endures at the hand of the penetrator. The penetrating side enjoys unsustainable, fast fulfilment of its pleasure principle, only to discover it has a strong death wish. Did the Western coalition in Afghanistan have an unconscious death wish in its pursuit of the pleasure principle defined by its ego and super-ego (mirrored by war hawks and commentators, in the US media)?

2021.08.19 ...on Lear

Watching Lear it still appears NOT valid to ask in England in the XXIst or the XXth century: is this not a Freudian tragedy in essence? It this not a play about sexual (intended) abuse, trauma that it carries and expected or unexpected forgiveness beyond the madness of revenge and castration? Goneril, Regan and Cordellia, the three daughters of Lear are the embodiment of the missing queen in the play. They know too well they should submit to the kings whims and desires yet remain faithful and loving off-springs. Speculating on the subject, Goneril and Regan appear to have been abused in the past by the king who is now too old to abuse young Cordellia - though he craves that and the love and forgiveness of all 3. The Earl of Gloucester and his sons reinforce that abuse and revenge-forgiveness. Seen like that everything that unfolds for Lear suggests a deeper meaning and renders the 'old fool' routine approach to the part, of any English Shakespearo, repressed at some level and obsolete.

Just watch Anthony 'the 3rd Welshman in Hollywood' Hopkins being directed by Richard 'the NT spectre' Eyre. Shakespeare's merit of using kings and queens, princes and princesses is that they can be in an elevated state of mind to do as they please, reveal who they really are, act with impunity but not without consequence, and not so much hide under the English cloak of repressed feelings, insular snobbery of language that is a blatant lack of universal values.

2021-08-16 ...on the postman in Kabul

The postman always rings twice... and just rang the 2nd time. As with warmongers in the West, no one seem to be losing their heads literally for the murderous folly and losses we'll have to bear for at least a generation, that Vietnam was a reminder of at almost every step including the withdrawal.

US lost a country they never could win as 'uninvited guests' but got themselves 'the dignity' of defending Kabul's airstrip, Hollywood could put in a movie. The British got a tearful James Bond to tell his Afghan proxies they knew they never live to tell the full story. Why did they expect to be different this time?

2021-08-14 ...on the British justice

With Assange's continued torture, the replayed gap between what is justice and how the law works in the UK made it more evident British justice is not to deliver for the individual but the use of the law for the benefit of those in power over lengthy 'due process'. The gut feeling one cannot shake off is the 'natural conspiracy' of those who rule over those who challenge power - in this case by means of torture, unsanctioned surveillance, rigged testimonies, arbitrary detention that Assange's presence in court is a clear reminder of. That boot that is forever stamped and stumped on the face of our humanity and humane endeavours, Orwell saw in '1984' as British (not Russian) indicative of any people ruled by means of (class) conspiracy. Mind the gap... of hypocrisy,

It's not the bed you make it's (the locals) who you lie with and what you can dream together.

2021-08-7 ...on London Riots 10 years on

10 years on snapshot... the undercurrent of half-justice that led to murder, and criminals being absolved of responsibility hasn't shifted. The river of half-justice with racism sunk under 'an apology' or floating overtly on top 'of this or that ruling', took unexpected twists and turns, from Grenfell to Windrush to the murders of the 3 Muslims who defended their community during the England riots in 2011 and further back to the murder of Damilola Tylor, Stephen Lawrence and Joy Gardner ...and further back.
