MeWar on Térror Before Assange: ‘Celebrating’ the 20-year war

July 2021: With Assange a political prisoner of conscience in a London prison and the Afghan pull-out of the coalition of the willy-nilly in full swing, here is a timely retelling of the beginning of the 20-year old war, that shaped our shared ‘inhumanity’ in the West.

As it happened, some of us found out with dismay as migrants, that we joined ‘killer nations’ where we work for people that share strongly in a tradition of abuse and profit in the name of democracy, by means of propaganda, ignorance and racism.

Learning to speak your own and make English your own, in this ‘Great British’ or rather great brutish context, appears(ed) to be the only way to recover the lost dream of freedom and humanity that most of our host nations did not fulfil but to the contrary, betray(ed) abysmally from the beginning of the new millennium when leaders choose the horror of war and the Western heart of darkness.

Storytelling war in 8 parts – how it was unscrupulously fed to most of the general public not so much by corrupt leaders but the professional liberal elite who claimed to keep them in check.

In autumn 2021 the media in the West – similarly to communist media – joined the state apparatus in managing if not openly oppressing humanist values such as the anti-war feeling. The implication of that was the pseudo autonomy which assured ‘media independence’ for many, crushed abruptly and in open sight with no debate.

Many like to think power corrupts from top, down, the reality being the corruption of war was met half-way by the eager many who passed and still aim to pass as ‘competent professionals’. What some of us saw, witnessed and were exposed to, was never spoken of openly or plainly, but it was there and affected everybody to a degree since 9.11.2001.

Or if you like, a satire of how the media landscape felt and media behaved like before Wikileaks and Julian Assange debased and exposed in the open its corrupt foundation and fake humanism.

The invasion of Afghanistan after 9.11.2001 preceded that of Iraq which began on 19 March 2003. Combined troops from the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and Poland invaded Iraq under the false proof Saddam harboured chemical weapons and was supporting Al-Queda.
